Board of Directors Meeting Minutes
May 8, 2017
The Brighton Shares The Harvest Board meeting was held on May 8, 2017 at 11:30, in the conference room at the Greater Brighton Chamber of Commerce office. Present were Board Members Bill Alsdorf, Jordan Shute, Dave Thomas, Sara Wells and Executive Director Linda Young. Board member Heidi Storz was excused. Also present was Board Candidate Lucy O’Neill. Jesse Staley has resigned from our Board.
Bill moved to approve the February 8, 2017 Board meeting minutes. It was seconded and approved.
We reviewed the first quarter Financial reports provided by our bookkeeper, Susan Heinz, and the associated bank statements, and the budget actuals through April 29.
We reviewed an outline of activities for emergency or succession planning. Lucy volunteered to maintain a copy of emails that include our official financial reports and other official communications, pending her being accepted as a Board member.
We discussed the schedule for our fundraising breakfast at Lulu’s Farm on May 14, the schedule, numbers, and logistics for distributing seedlings to the food pantries and the gardens that we support, and coverage for our booth at Summerfest on June 3 and the City BBQ on July 20. Linda will send emails summarizing that information.
Dave moved and it was seconded that we approve Lucy O’Neill as a new Board member. The vote was unanimous. Welcome, Lucy, we’re glad to have you join us! Linda will send out a revised Board of Directors Contact Information document reflecting Jesse’s resignation and that Lucy has joined us.
Our next quarterly Board meeting will be on Monday, August 14, 2017, at 11:30. The location has not yet been determined. Our remaining 2017 meeting dates are as follows:
