November 2016 Meeting Minutes

Brighton Shares The Harvest
Board of Directors Meeting Minutes
November 14, 2016

The Brighton Shares The Harvest Board meeting was held on November 14, 2016, at 11:30, at Anythink Library Brighton. Present were Board Members Bill Alsdorf, Jesse Staley, Heidi Storz, Dave Thomas, Sara Wells and Executive Director Linda Young. Board member Jordan Shute was excused.

Bill moved to approve the August 15, 2016 Board meeting minutes. It was seconded and approved.

Heidi moved to approve the request by the Executive Director that we waive the requirement for two signatures on checks over $500 for the annual insurance payment, currently $648, so the bill can be paid in a timely manner. It was seconded and approved.

The Board reviewed the draft of the Board Member Donation Policy, and discussed the need for an actual policy on this issue. It was suggested that instead of a formal policy, the Executive Director would remind the Board members during the annual meeting that it is an expectation that each Board member will make a financial donation annually. There is no minimum dollar amount suggested.

Linda reported that we have switched cellphone carriers, from Virgin Mobile with a smart phone and data plan for $38 a month, to T-Mobile, with no data plan for $8 a month.

Jesse moved to approve the 2017 Budget. It was seconded and approved.

Linda will request that our website support person, Amanda Griffin, give Jesse Staley Administrative authority so he can make content changes to our website.

After the Board meeting, via email, the third quarter Financial Reports were reviewed; Board members reported that they had no questions or concerns.

Our next quarterly Board meeting will be on Monday, February 13, 2017, at 11:30. The location has not yet been determined. Our remaining 2017 meeting dates are as follows:

Monday, May 8, 11:30
Monday, August 14, 11:30
Monday, November 13, 11:30 (Annual Meeting)

The meeting was adjourned at 1:00.

Respectfully submitted,

Linda Young, Executive Director
