The CSU Extension Office in Adams County in partnership with Brighton Shares the Harvest is offering four classes this spring for people interested in growing fruits and vegetables.
Introduction to Vegetable Gardening: February 18th 10:00 am-12:00 pm
Learn the basic of vegetable gardening along the Front Range. Topics will include; plant needs, soil amendments, irrigation, fertility and raised bed gardening.
Seed Starting for Vegetable Gardeners: March 11th 10:00 am- 12:00 pm

This talk will cover what is needed to begin starting your garden plants from seed at home as well as how to successfully save seeds from your garden for next season. Learn the basics of seed biology and what seeds need to germinate and develop. Specific requirements for germinating 12 common garden plants will be discussed.
All about Tomatoes: April 8th 10:00 am-12:00 pm
Who does not love tomatoes? Come to learn everything you have ever wanted to know about this garden favorite! All the specifics of tomato care from irrigation to fertilization to harvest and beyond will be covered.
Vegetable Varieties for Colorado: May 6th 10:00 am- 12:00 pm
Learn what varieties of common vegetables do best in our climate and soil. Unique and interesting varieties will also be discussed.
All talks will be held in the meeting room at the Adams County Parks and Extension Building on the Adams County Fair Grounds (9755 Henderson Rd. Brighton).

Seed Exchange – Seed Giveaway
You do not need to bring seeds to share; we have plenty seeds to give away, but if you wish to bring seeds to share, please observe the following guidelines:
- Seeds may be in the original packaging, opened or not. If opened, please tape shut to avoid spillage.
- If not in the original packaging, please label to the best of your ability, if known:
- Species (required), such as beets, peppers, zucchini, etc.
- Variety, such as Detroit Red Beets, Poblano Peppers, etc.
- Year seeds were packaged, brand, organic, heirloom.
- Please do not bring seeds for plants that are poisonous.
- Fruit, vegetable, herb, and flower seeds are all welcome!
