Brighton Shares The Harvest is partnering with the Brighton Bloomin’ Buddies Garden Club and the Adams County Extension Office to present a free class on food preservation. The class will cover:


How canning preserves food

Ensuring safe canned foods

Equipment and methods not recommended

Ensuring high quality canned foods

Recommended jars and lids

Recommended canners

Selecting the correct processing time

Cooling jars and testing jar seals

Storing home canned foods


The class will be held on Saturday, July 11, 9:00 – 1:00, at the Adams County Extension Office, 9755 Henderson Road Brighton, CO 80601 (Adams County Fairgrounds), in the Parks Meeting Room. The Extension office will be the first left turn as you are entering the fairgrounds, before you reach the Waymire Dome. Look for temporary signs directing you to parking and to the meeting room.  Beverages and snacks will be provided.
